The Waiting Game
I hate waiting. I have the patience of a fruit fly. I’m not really sure how much patience that actually is but I imagine it’s got to be pretty dang little. Later this afternoon/evening, Cornelius “Tank” Carradine will make his announcement about where he plans to spend his remaining college career. Why do we care? First off, they call him Tank. Secondly, they call him Tank.
It was assumed that he was a Florida State lock but last evening, rumors swirled that there might be a change in plans. Even the FSU guys I know weren’t feeling particularly confident about who Tank would pick today, after being supremely confident for the last few weeks. This makes me excited at the prospect that the Dawgs might have a shot at Mr. Carradine’s services.
But you know what? This last second rumor/change of heart thing seems awfully familiar. Remember James Wilder’s announcement earlier this Summer? A very similar situation: FSU lock until the night before, when things supposedly changed. End result, Wilder committed to the ‘Noles.
There’s nothing I’d like more than to congratulate our outgoing senior class while ushering in a new face for our roster. But I’m feeling pretty pessimistic at the moment.
