Opelikan Beauty

You ever get the feeling that maybe, somehow, you’re not the protagonist in the story that’s unfolding before you? I have this sick feeling that the Dawgs might be in this position. It just sets up so perfectly for the history books, you know? I mean, here’s Auburn, ranked number two in the polls with a star quarterback who, until recently, has spent much of the season as the media darling, capturing the hearts and the minds of the general populace in the process.

And essentially, on the eve of facing their oldest rival, controversy is suddenly cast upon them. But the Auburn Tiger Nation has held strong in its belief of no wrongdoing and they’ve stood by their embattled star player, who himself has faced previous hardships and yet has persevered to become what many feel is the best college football player in the nation.

Seriously, I feel like I’m working on the beginnings of a novel that I’m planning to submit to a local bildungsroman-writing contest. If I were to adapt it to film, the intro might look a little something like this:

I’m scared about today’s game, guys. But at least I got to kill about an hour of time playing around with this post. So there’s that.

Go Dawgs!
