Dawg Beats Self, Gains Victory

So, what did you guys think of the game? I wasn’t able to watch it live. In fact, I got home from work just as it ended. But we live in the future and the future comes with a rewind button. Yeah, I know it’s the Spring game and that we’re not really seeing very much of anything. Still, the defensive players looked more comfortable and I was impressed by the play of several individuals. Oh, and Branden Smith is still really, really fast.

Other than the game, there was a QB competition featuring four former Dawgs quarterbacks including Eric Zeier, David Greene, D.J. Shockley and Matthew Stafford. Unfortunately, CSS neglected to broadcast this part of the day’s festivities. But I have it on good authority that Stafford won. Handily.

It was quite a crowd that showed up at Sanford today, coming in at just over 43,000, a new G-Day attendance record. Along with the fans were several former players, including the aforementioned quarterbacks as well as other notables:

Garrison Hearst and George Foster

This is it, folks. We’re in it for the long haul now. Nothing until mid-July, when SEC media days gives us a brief respite from the long Summer doldrums. But we’ll get through. Some how, we always do.

Go Dawgs!
