2011 Media Guide

Dawgs’ 2011 Media Guide went out recently and Seth Emerson’s got a great write up on its contents, including this interesting bit:

About a decade ago, I was covering a college basketball program whose head coach was entering his make-or-break year. The school’s athletics director, I was told later, had one instruction for the team’s publicist as the media guide was being prepared:

“Don’t put the coach on the cover,’ the A.D. said.

And here’s a picture of the Media Guide, via David Pollack’s Twitter:

A bit more from Emerson’s piece:

Mark Richt isn’t on the cover, but otherwise his presence is hardly played down.

But he is on the cover! I can totally make out that pixel that is Coach Richt in the act of pacing the sidelines during whatever game that is in the background. See for yourselves! And make sure to note the 2012 football schedule on page 2:

September 1 Buffalo
September 8 at South Carolina
September 15 Florida Atlantic
September 22 Vanderbilt
September 29 Tennessee
October 6 at Alabama
October 13 at Kentucky
October 20 Open
October 27 at Florida
November 3 Ole Miss
November 10 at Auburn
November 17 Georgia Southern
November 24 Georgia Tech

Interesting to see Vandy and Tennessee so early in the schedule.
